Vandaag tijdens het surfen op zoek naar interessante sites kwam ik het volgende tegen; het MIT’s Open Course Ware.

Het MIT’s Open Course Ware is een free and open educational resource for faculty, students, and self-learners around the world. OCW supports MIT's mission to advance knowledge and education, and serve the world in the 21st century.

of zoals het op de site staat omschreven:

MIT OCW is a large-scale, Web-based electronic publishing initiative funded jointly by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and MIT.

MIT OCW's goals are to:
* Provide free, searchable, access to MIT's course materials for educators, students, and self-learners around the world.
* Extend the reach and impact of MIT OCW and the "opencourseware" concept.
* MIT OCW would not be possible without the support and generosity of the MIT faculty who choose to share their research, pedagogy, and knowledge to benefit others. We expect MIT OCW to reach a steady - though never static - state by 2008. Between now and then, we will publish the materials from virtually all of MIT's undergraduate and graduate courses.

Er zijn veel cursusmaterialen te vinden, over de meest uiteenlopende onderwerpen. Je hoeft je niet te registreren om de pdf’s te mogen downloaden. De onderwerpenlijst is veelzijdig. Waneer je iets wilt weten over Aeronautics and Astronautics, Linguistics and Philosophy, Anthropology, Literature, Architecture, Materials Science and Engineering, Biological Engineering Division, etc. moet je hier zeker een keer een kijkje nemen.
